The In-Between...

I've been told to take it at face value.
That what he said is what he meant.
And men don't come with grey lines.
But the girl in me
want's to take what you've said
and think about the possibility
of the in-between.
Because black and white has to make grey
at some point, right?
We were together for too long,
wrapped up for too long
for there not to be any grey
in between the sheets
where we once laid
intertwined.

I Will...

I will stumble....
                and fall....
but don't give up on me.
                                    I'm still learning to love.

Bitter...

You tasted bitter,
the first time my lips met yours,
it was bitter.
I didn't expect that really...
to taste so...unconventional.
But I was intrigued.
And so, I waited until the day
that the bitterness turned to sweet.
And I made myself believe
that you were sweet all along,
but you weren't.
We both knew that,
that pleasant taste you get
when your mouth first finds the one it was yearning for.
It's...(humph)
like vanilla with a hint of chocolate.
But, you didn't taste like vanilla.
And it was my fault for thinking that you ever could.
I should have known something was lacking
from the first moment that my tongue tasted yours.
But, I wanted to believe,
deep down I wanted you to be vanilla with a hint of chocolate syrup.
And so, I shall take the blame for this demise.
Because it was my fault for putting so much faith
into a fantasy.
